It still feels strange typing the date of December whilst we are having such good weather.
Today we had decided to visit Manly Beach. We must be attracted to any place called Manly. It is a town near the entrance to Sydney Harbour and it has a famous surfing beach. We could use our transport card to get the bus into the city and also use it for the ferry. So simple, you have to tap on and tap off each mode of transport. I have never tapped off so often!
We had a picnic and then walked up some rocks at the southern end of the beaches. It was here I decided to prove I was 'manly' too.
We went on a failed attempt to book a hire car for after our stay in Sydney. We did get into an Avis rental office to be given a massive quote that I immediately refused. When we got back to wifi at the apartment I checked the price online and got it around 30% less and then booked it with Hertz about 50% less. What a ridiculous racquet all these hire companies run.
Another quiet night in. We are pretty wacked by all this walking. We have got in the habit of listening to BBC Radio 2 on the Internet whilst we have a good signal. So this evening we listened to Ken Bruce's Pop Master. It's a bit wierd listening to morning radio in the evening. We also switched to Lakeland Radio and heard there are temporary traffic lights at Milnthorpe Square. Just thought I would include this bit of traffic info in case you missed it and want to avoid any delays!
