Not eating marsupials today.

OMonday 4th December 2016

I managed a run this morning.  It was still hot but we did have a few clouds in the morning for a change.  Needless to say I worked up quite a sweat but I survived nevertheless.

After breakfast we went for a walk to the Sunday market that was on the coast near the harbour.  We made a couple of purchases.

A nice new hat for Janice (very stylish I think) and....

A juicy pineapple for our tea.  The stall sold only pineapples and the owner was a Swedish/Australian.  I can vouch for the gorgeous taste, so much more tasty and ripe than any pineapple I have bought in England.

We had a little sit by the shore.  This is my 'looking pensive' pose!

Back at the hotel pool in the afternoon one of the Aussie residents called me 'Cobber' which means 'friend' in Aussie slang.  I feel almost local now.

Whilst sitting in the shade Janice and I created our own 'Desert Island Disc' music lists.

My eight music choices were -
Budapest - Jethro Tull
Nut Bush City Limits - Ike and Tina Turner
Roxane - Police
Hero & Heroine - Strawbs
Copacabana - Barry Manilow
Sunscreen- Baz Luhrmann
Never too much - Luther Vandross
How Long - Paul Carrack / Ace

Janice's music choices -
Bat Out of Hell - Meat Loaf
I Feel Love - Donna Summer
Dancing Queen - Abba
Take my Breath Away - Berlin
Jar of Hearts - Christina Perry
Wishing I was Lucky - Wet Wet Wet
Three Times a Lady - The Commodores
Sunday Girl - Blondie

I'm not quite sure what these choices say about us?  If we were asked tomorrow we might make a new selection but the choices created an interesting conversation and passed the time.

Whilst sitting at the pool we saw a couple of parakeets but only caught one in a photo...I can't offer a prize but let's play, 'spot the parakeet'.

Place an X on the parakeets beak to win.

Last night we saw a bandicoot running round the pool, it even had a couple of little swims.  It seems to be a resident because their is a sign on the poolside telling us about the marsupial.  There wasn't enough meat on it to make it worthy of putting it on the barbie, so it was safe.

In the evening we had a chance of watching the last episode of Poldark.  I was actually hoping to see a replay of the England v Australia rugby match but there doesn't appear to be any interest in Australia to show it again during the daytime.  If you didn't know, England won quite convincingly in the end.
