Troy Tempest

I Sunday 8th January 2017

Today was a cooler and cloudy start.  We were at leisure in Robe so we intended to take it slow and easy.

We walked along the coastline in the morning.

The obelisk is the red and white triangular thing....not me!  It was built in the mid 1800's to warn ships of the rocks.  Aparently there were 30 shipwrecks along this stretch of coast in one year.

The west beach was beautiful and quiet.

In the afternoon we stayed by the beach closest to out motel and relaxed.  We talked to a local lady who pointed out a stingray off the shoreline.  So, being totally fearless I swam out to it.  

It was further out than I thought.  The stingray is just visible as a dark patch just further than me.  It's the first time I have ever been up close with a stingray, I was a bit frightened because we were so far out and the local lady also mentioned sharks in these waters!!  Janice likened me to Troy Tempest from the Stingray puppet animation TV film.  There's no strings on me!

The day ended nice and sunny, just right for another barbie.
